Challenge Milton News!
Challenge Holy Rosary Parish Milton has received a grant for $1,500.00 from the Ex Corde Foundation of the Diocese of Hamilton, generously established by Bishop Douglas Crosby, OMI, over nine years ago. We submitted an application earlier this year to the foundation, detailing the upcoming Challenge activities and purchases which will require financial assistance. We are so grateful for this generous assistance from Bishop Crosby and the Foundation Board Members and Trustees at the Diocese of Hamilton Office.
All our Challenge Club members, leaders, and volunteers wish to thank Bishop Crosby and the Ex Corde Foundation for their gracious support.

Father Peter and Father Frances along with the 50th anniversary committee would like to thank the Challenge Girl's Club Members who so nicely represented the club during our Mass on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary and at the celebration afterwards. All of you represented the club with pride and set the bar pretty high for others to follow your example. With your presence, you showed your faith and commitment to our community of parishioners.
Please continue growing in our faith and trust Our Lord and Mother Mary. Together with Jesus Christ, they will always protect you and guide your path with Their light. God bless you and your families. Thank you again!

As a participant in Challenge’s Father-Daughter Night, I personally think it was an amazing experience I had with my dad. The fun, creative games we played brought out the best in both of us and we both had a lot of goofy fun together. I especially loved the dads vs. daughters dodgeball. We had a great time challenging each other to the point of exhaustion! Having those family and fatherhood-based games were very helpful and always helped me to relate back to how important my dad is in my life while still having a ton of fun. Overall, it was an awesome, fun-filled and faith based night for both of us! Thanks for giving us such a great time!

In April 2016, Jessica and Daniela's parents, Ana and Gustavo, travelled to Rome for their 25th Wedding Anniversary. They obtained seats for the Wednesday audience, but also got to meet the Holy Father personally, and their father served at Mass with Pope Francis. We are all so thrilled and proud and wish to share that momentous experience with you.

On March 11, 2016, Challenge Girl's Club visited Martindale Gardens Retirement Home for a St. Patrick's Day Celebration of songs, poems, skits, fiddle music and gift giving. We received a beautiful thank you card from one resident, which you can read on our Testimonies Page. Here is a response from our girls to that thank you note.
Dear Senior Residents:
We were all so, so happy to be able to sing for all of you! You were all so patient during our transitions. Our girls were so delighted to talk to you, and hope to do it again.
Though we were a little scared to sing at first, you made us feel very comfortable, and feel very welcomed. Talking to you and singing to you made us so happy.
We hope to see you next year!

Our club fundraiser this year, the Mother/Daughter Formal Tea on April 23, was a joyful celebration of the love between daughters and mothers, of being daughters of the King of the Universe, and of the gift of the vocation of Motherhood. Our club members, neatly dressed in white and black, served in a professional manner our invited guests (which included mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, friends and neighbours) a delicious lunch of steaming hot tea, tasty sandwiches and dainty desserts at elegantly set tables of china. All the lovely and classic China cups and saucers and plates were graciously lent for our use by amazing club mom Mrs. Liz Santos, who with daughter Syliva also planned, shopped, co-ordinated and organized volunteers, food donations, ticket sales, advertizing, set-up, kitchen duties, clean-up, to name just a few of her duties. Thank you Liz, from the bottom of our hearts! We thank all our guests for supporting our club fundraiser. Thanks to Father Peter and Holy Rosary Parish for the use of the Parish Hall. Thanks to Father Pierre Caouette who filled in at the last minute (due to the illness of our entertainer) with his thoughtful presentation on "Daughters of the King". Also, special thanks to our Club moms for donations of scrumptious sandwiches and desserts, and of their precious time in the kitchen. We wish to acknowledge our generous local businesses who donated baking and services:
"La Rose Italian Bakery" at 327 Bronte in Milton
"Bread'n Batter" Filipino Specialty Bakery on 875 Main St E also in Milton.
The use of vintage china is courtesy "Ace Vintage Tea Cups and More Rental", owned by Challenge MIlton Club Mom Liz Santos and daughter Sylvia de León.
Our wonderful club members also stepped into the roll of entertainers, performing some of their songs, poems and readings from a recent St. Patrick's Day apostolate to a local retirement home. As one mom said: "the girls are amazing and they sang like angels."
This event will remain cherished in our hearts for a long time to come.
We wish to mention that some of the left over baking was donated to the Holy Rosary Parish Bake Sale in support of the Syrian refugee family, held after the weekend Masses.

On Saturday, May 14, Challenge members are invited to participate in hosting an elegant occasion for married couples, the “Marriage Vow Renewal Event” sponsored by Regnum Christi, to be held at Holy Rosary Parish in Milton (poster on our Challenge website: This Week in Challenge and Retreats for Parents).
Arriving at 3:00 pm, the members will receive instruction to “professionally” host specially assigned tables-for-two before attending the Mass and Vow Renewal for the couples. They will then assist at their tables during a multi-course formal dinner served during the program.
