In April, we received the thrilling news that Challenge Milton is awarded a Diocese of Hamilton Ex Corde Foundation Grant for $1,500.00, a foundation established and maintain by Bishop Crosby and a Board of Directors. Our club made application in early 2016, and was honoured with the awarding of this grant to our club. We are so grateful to Bishop Crosby and the Foundation.

Halton Alive Talk
Attended by Challenge Girl's Club Members and Leaders
The talk given at St. Peter Catholic Elementary School on Friday, March 4, was on pro-life issues. The speaker, Ms. Elea Hofman, spoke about social justices and and the way abortion and euthanasia are against them. Abortion is against social justice in that it takes away the right-to-life of those who are in the womb. The right-to-life should be given to all humans as are other rights, such as the right to vote, to education, and food. Ms. Hofman gave solid suggestions to the attending students to help put an end to the injustices of abortion and euthanasia by joining or starting pro-life groups, by pointing out a counsellor to someone who is considering abortion, by volunteering at pro-life offices, and by reading good articles to educate themselves in these matters, etc. A video was played that showed that one can see, though ultrasounds, that when a woman is pregnant there is a human life inside her womb, not merely a “clump of cells.” This video can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APkV40vUhWs.
We must be ready to speak out about these issues no matter where we are or who we are with. Let us pray to St. Gianna Beretta Molla, patron saint of the pro-life movement, and to St. John of the Cross, patron of the sick, to give all of us strength to stand up and fight for what is right in our world today, especially against the injustices of abortion and euthanasia.

Concerning snacks, moms are asked to please provide a peanut free snack for the group (25 approx.). The snack should include a peanut free item (p/ex. Fruits, vegetables, dips, crackers, etc. and a drink p/ex. boxed juices, water, etc.) Plates and napkins will be provided by the club. A maximum of $25 will be reimbursed with the submission of receipts.
Since we use the school facilities, it is imperative that we abide to the peanut free school policy as there is always a risk of cross contamination.
The schedule for snack assignment is provided in the details of the club meetings on our "calendar" page. Thank you!
